Volunteers For Health Committee
Volunteering is a powerful force impacting the increasing demands on healthcare. Organizations represented by the members of the Volunteers For Health Committee and the Tampa Bay Healthcare Collaborative (TBHC) improve the health and safety of our community by organizing and utilizing teams of local volunteers, medical and public health professionals alike, to contribute their skills and expertise.
Our Volunteers for Health Committee has developed the "I Can Help Now" program which continues to build upon our awareness campaigns, including the final phase of the “I Can Help Now” website which was created to provide volunteer opportunities for professionals in the medical field. TBHC is utilizing media created and designed by our committees to ensure that this program continues to attract medical professionals to our group who offer free clinics in the Tampa Bay area.

Everyday Thousands of People in Tampa Bay Volunteer!
In honor of the volunteers who positively impact our community, the Volunteers For Health Committee has launched a Volunteer Recognition and Appreciation Award. Quarterly, one volunteer will be selected from both Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties for their contributions to the field of healthcare in the Tampa Bay area. These awards will recognize those whose lives have an impact on the quality and/or availability of health services locally, thus improving the quality of life for those in our community.
Nominations will be received and a community selection panel will make their recommendations to the Volunteers For Health Committee. Once selected, the winners will be announced at an event where each volunteers’ many contributions to our local community will be recognized. This award project is supported by a grant from Allegany Franciscan Ministries.
If you know someone that volunteers their time, expertise, and a helping hand to make our community a safer, healthier place, please take a moment and NOMINATE THEM TODAY!
