History

Tampa Bay Healthcare Collaborative (TBHC) is a model of and vehicle for collaboration bringing together a wide specturm of healthcare stakeholders. No other entity in Tampa Bay has this unique combination of members currently consisting of over 100 organizations.

TBHC developed following/began in the summer of 2001 stemming from a series of discussions with organizations that had or were being funded by Allegany Franciscan Ministries, Tampa Bay, Inc. This inaugural conversation centered on the need for a comprehensive, coordinated delivery process for community health and human services for the underserved populations in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. Approximately 50 representatives from Bay area foundations, hospitals, clinics, community-based organizations, public health programs, family service centers, homeless projects, mental health programs and faith communities joined together at this inaugural event to define preliminary mission, goals and objectives for the Tampa Bay Healthcare Collaborative.
